Headed up by mother-and-daughter team Jane James and Lucinda Lloyd, Jane James and Associates have been leaders in the expert reporting profession for over 35 years, providing our clients with clear, well-balanced, evidence-based reports complying with Civil Procedure Rules Part 35.

We accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant solicitors for both liability reports and quantum reports with a focus on catastrophic injuries and complex care. Our first-rate services extend across the UK, Ireland, and internationally.

Meet our team

 

Jane James: Interim Chair

Jane has been an expert witness since 1987 and is a founder member of the Expert Witness Institute. She has prepared more than 2,500 quantum reports on care, aids and equipment on adults and children.

Jane provides training for JJ&A’s expert witness team and has been a guest speaker at many public events.

Jane has a passion for horses and enjoys the UK and European eventing circuit.

 

Lucinda Lloyd: Managing Director

In her role as Managing Director, Luci provides strategic leadership to JJ&A, driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and the delivery of high-quality expert witness reporting services. She is responsible for the organisation’s operational management, ensuring that all areas of the business demonstrate a commitment to integrity, professional expertise, and client care.

Alongside her leadership role, Luci continues to act as a Paediatric Care Expert, preparing comprehensive reports on care requirements, aids, and equipment for both Claimant and Defendant solicitors. This dual expertise allows Luci to lead the business with informed judgement and precision, reinforcing its standing within the industry.

Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, eating out and holidays in Cornwall.

 

Charlotte Doel: Business Operations Manager 

Charlotte is responsible for the operational management, delivery, and quality of JJ&A’s expert witness reporting services. As part of the senior leadership team, she leads and develops the Expert Support team while providing quality assurance oversight for our liability and quantum team of experts. Her role ensures that JJ&A maintains the highest standards in service delivery, administration and expert support.

Away from the office, Charlotte works as a remedial sports therapist. She is also a passionate horsewoman and regularly competes on the show jumping circuit.

 

Mike Lloyd: Finance Manager

Mike is responsible for the financial management, delivery, and quality of JJ&A’s services. As part of the senior leadership team, he ensures accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and sound financial planning to support sustainable growth and operational efficiency. His role underpins JJ&A’s commitment to strong governance and long-term success.

Away from work, Mike is an accomplished photographer with a strong interest in landscape and street photography.

 

Karen Ferris: People and Engagement Manager

Karen leads JJ&A’s strategic and operational people services, ensuring a positive experience for employees and team of expert witnesses. As part of the senior leadership team, Karen’s responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, wellbeing, professional development, marketing and business planning to support JJ&A’s high-quality service provision.

Karen loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her family and friends as these are the most important things in her life - along with Paul Weller!

 

Mel Tierney: Expert Support Executive

Mel plays a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of JJ&A’s quantum expert witness reporting services. Mel is integral to the coordination and delivery of JJ&A’s quantum expert witness reporting services. She manages expert availability, liaises with solicitors, insurers, and experts, and oversees communications to keep cases moving efficiently. Her responsibilities include administering instructions, maintaining accurate case records, and proofreading reports, all of which support the operational workflow and uphold JJ&A’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Mel is a Master Scuba Diver and, along with her husband and fellow Master Scuba Diver Mike, has clocked up more than 300 dives worldwide.

 

Roxy Shepherdson: Expert Support Executive

Roxy plays a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of JJ&A’s expert witness reporting services for both liability and quantum. She manages expert availability, liaises with solicitors, insurers, and experts, and oversees communications to keep cases moving efficiently. Her responsibilities include administering instructions, maintaining accurate case records, and proofreading reports, all of which support the operational workflow and uphold JJ&A’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Roxy was born in Bath, although she has lived in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, for the last 16 years. In her limited spare time, Roxy loves being with her family, travelling, exploring castles and playing video games to relax! She’s a real foodie and loves cooking and discovering new places to eat.

 

Vicky Lees: Expert Support Executive

Vicky is central to ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of JJ&A’s expert witness reporting services for both liability and quantum. She manages expert availability, liaises with solicitors, insurers, and experts, and oversees communications to keep cases moving efficiently. Her responsibilities include administering instructions, maintaining accurate case records, and proofreading reports, all of which support the operational workflow and uphold JJ&A’s commitment to quality and reliability.

When she's not working, Vicky can be found ferrying her children to various activities around Wiltshire, walking with her husband and playing bridge.

 

Meg Rhys: Executive Assistant and Client Services Manager

Meg provides high-level executive support to JJ&A’s Managing Director while ensuring seamless client service delivery. Her role combines executive PA responsibilities with client-facing coordination, managing expert enquiries, instructions, and estimates from solicitors, insurers, and third parties. Meg also oversees the administration of the company website and supports marketing activities, helping to showcase JJ&A’s expertise and high-quality services.

When Meg is not working, she spends lots of time ferrying her boys to various sporting events and classes, including football, fencing and swimming. Meg loves the countryside and enjoys wild swimming at Lake 32 in the Cotswolds, cycling, walking her four dogs and paddle boarding with her boys whenever she gets the chance.

 

Julia Davey: Expert Support Administrator

Julia plays a vital role in supporting JJ&A’s expert liaison team and ensuring the smooth coordination of expert witness reporting services. Her responsibilities include managing administrative workflows, filing evidence, and maintaining accurate case records. With her extensive experience in administration, Julia provides essential day-to-day support to the JJ&A team, helping to keep operations efficient and organised.

Outside of work, Julia enjoys family time and walking her Jack Russell terrier. She is also a dedicated volunteer at the West Wiltshire Child Contact Centre.
