Bio:
Nicola qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2003 and has since gained extensive experience in both clinical practice and senior management within Local Authorities and private healthcare settings.
Working with children and adults who have experienced catastrophic injuries, Nicola is motivated by seeing their progress as they work towards their goals and aspirations.
Nicola has spent nine years working in litigation as a Case Manager, completing Immediate Needs Assessments and identifying key issues, solutions, and associated costs. She continues to manage complex cases involving children and adults with catastrophic injuries, giving her extensive experience and a deep understanding of occupational therapy, rehabilitation, care, and the litigation process. Through her career, she has supported numerous clients by coordinating care packages via both direct and indirect employment.
Nicola’s extensive work with paediatric cases, has given her a strong knowledge of Education Health Care Plans, and she is experienced in working with schools and other professionals to support the development of a child’s skills. She also has an excellent understanding of clients’ needs, including equipment and adaptation requirements.
Throughout her career, Nicola has managed a complex clinical caseload while also providing managerial support to fellow occupational therapists. She has extensive clinical expertise in the areas of brain injury from birth and in supporting clients and their families who experience significant psychological sequelae following trauma.
