New Head of Clinical Negligence will boost our experts' skills

WE are delighted that Catherine Cooper has become our Head of Clinical Negligence to support the company’s management and help with recruiting and training our expert team.

Catherine, who has been with Jane James and Associates for seven years, is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Wiltshire and has a wealth of nursing and management experience.

She was at the forefront of her GP practice’s response to the pandemic as its Infection Control Lead and played a key role in organising its vaccination programme.

In her new role she will work closely with Lucinda Lloyd, our Head of Operations and Clinical support, with the recruitment, training, and development of the Liability Expert team.

Lucinda says: “I am so pleased that Catherine will be using her experience and knowledge to benefit the team. We are very lucky to have someone as passionate and dedicated as her and I’m sure our growing team of experts will appreciate the support and know-how that she will be able to give them.”

Catherine, who spent nearly seven years in the army, has already been helping newer members of the team to settle into their role. “I will go through the case with them and talk about what other evidence they might need, because not everything is always there, like a nurse’s qualifications or local policies,” she says.

“They will draft their report based on their opinion and I will help them test that opinion and make sure they are familiar with the procedure, so they meet all the timelines.”

Away from work Catherine finds time to study for her Master’s degree and look after her teenage sons and is also keen runner.

She and Lucinda are both happy to speak with our current and future clients in relation to our team of liability experts.

We offer reports in a range of areas including, general nursing, mental health nursing, practice nursing, manual handling, tissue viability, neurosurgical and neurological nursing, occupational therapy, and care provision for both nursing and residential care homes.
